The attention to detail in the architecture and design of the structures is commendable, making it a truly immersive experience. From thatched roofs to cobblestone streets, every element transports visitors back in time, allowing them to appreciate the intricacies of medieval craftsmanship.

Absolutely beautiful. I would recommend this place to anyone. My only criticism would be the cafe food, which leaves a lot to be desired. Fantastic medieval village, beautiful lake, and grounds surrounding. Fun park area. It's a delight.
It’s a lovely place to walk. I was amazed at the clear waters of the lake. You could see the fish swimming around. There were so many. The birds were on the surface and it was a cool sight. We spotted a couple of water voles. I’ve never seen any before. Don’t confuse them with rats. They look very cute.
The children’s play area was good apart from the young child area. It looks cute and fun, but it’s honestly a death trap. It’s steep and has lots of areas where a little one could fall. It really needs to be flattened out quite a lot. Every person I spoke to in that area had trouble with it.
Free to enter.. little museum too.
Can enter buildings.
Only takes less than 30 mins to walk round..nr to car park.
Thoroughly enjoyed this free gem in the grounds of Cosmeston Country Park. Fascinating history of a Medieval settlement. Reconstructed from actual remains. 100% worth a visit if in the Cardiff area.
The medieval village is set in the year 1350. It was a fascinating time in history as the village had been given a new boost of life by the de Caversham family.
Cosmeston Medieval Village is a living history medieval village near Lavernock in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. Based upon remains discovered during a 1980s archaeological dig in the grounds of Cosmeston Lakes Country Park, it is a re-creation of 14th century peasant life in Wales in the Late Middle Ages.
Cosmeston includes a Reeve's house, a pub, medieval gardens, and a swineherd's cottage complete with pigpen. The tithe barn is the largest building within the village, and includes a display of medieval weaponry and chain mail.
Absolutely beautiful place and free. What more could you ask for
